Imagine a holiday season filled with movement, laughter and community bonding. That’s exactly what residents of Atria Lincoln Place in Lincoln, RI are experiencing through the “Holiday Hustle” program, where fun, fitness and holiday spirit come together.

“This year for our Holiday Hustle program, residents can compete to fill out a festive bingo card,” shares Brielle Gaudreau, Engage Life Director at Atria Lincoln Place. “Each space on the card describes an activity like ‘take a holiday-themed picture with a friend’ or ‘attend a fitness class.’”

The program runs through December and encourages residents to get moving while having festive fun and connecting with each other. “Holiday Hustle activities are focused on both fitness and general well-being,” Gaudreau adds. “This ensures that all our residents can get involved.”

Holiday-themed stickers add extra motivation – residents collect them by attending exercise classes and other events. The person with the most stickers by New Year’s Day wins a prize. “Our residents are competitive, and they love it. They’d collect the stickers even without a prize,” Gaudreau notes.

Each day, residents can join a whole-body exercise class in the morning, followed by a specialized class in the afternoon. “Our residents end up with so many stickers,” Gaudreau says with a smile. But it’s not just about fitness – Holiday Hustle also includes community-building events like holiday movie nights.

Gaudreau emphasizes that the program is designed to make everyone feel at home, which is especially important during the holiday season. “We plan certain events to encourage friends and family to visit. For example, each resident can bring two guests to our holiday party.”

For many at Atria Lincoln Place, letting their loved ones in on the festivities adds to their holiday joy. “I attend most of the events with our residents, and they know if I’m around, we’re going to take so many pictures,” Gaudreau laughs. “They know their families and friends will see the photos on our Facebook page, and that makes them really happy.”

Whether it’s fitness, friendship or festive fun, Atria Lincoln Place provides residents with a warm and welcoming home for the holidays. As Gaudreau puts it, “Our residents really love to party!”
