At Atria, we believe one simple truth: Great communities start with great people. That’s why we don’t just hire for skills – we look for heart, passion and a genuine desire to serve older adults. The result? Communities where residents feel valued, cared for and at home from day one.

Why we hire top talent

We don’t just fill positions; we build a team of compassionate, creative and hardworking individuals who are genuinely dedicated to making a difference in the lives of older adults. When we find someone exceptional, we celebrate them! This year, we introduced the Uncommon Hospitality distinction to honor team members who go above and beyond in making Atria a great place to live.

The gold standard in hospitality

Take Marcel Momplaisir, our first team member recognized for their Uncommon Hospitality. As Community Sales Director at Atria Center City in Philadelphia, he brings hospitality to a whole new level.

When the Pang family toured the community for their mother, Helen, Marcel didn’t just show them apartments – he connected with them on a deeper level. After learning that the number four is considered unlucky in Cantonese culture, he made sure to avoid showing the family any apartments with that number. But he didn’t stop there. Marcel researched Chinese traditions and discovered the importance of jade, a symbol of health and protection. He even brushed up on Cantonese greetings like “nei hou” (hello) to make Helen feel truly welcomed.

When Helen arrived for her first tour, Marcel greeted her in Cantonese, presented her with a thoughtful jade pendant, and made sure she felt right at home. His efforts didn’t just impress the Pangs – they made the family feel understood and at home. On New Year’s Eve, the family signed a lease, and by mid-January, Helen had already settled in, ready to begin her next chapter in a community that respects and cares for her.

Recognizing and rewarding the best

Marcel’s story is just one example of the extraordinary people who make Atria unique. Whether it’s creating meaningful connections or paying attention to the smallest details, our team members are at the heart of what makes life at Atria fulfilling for residents.

At Atria, we know that being the best place to live starts with being the best place to work. Rewarding our employees and helping them grow both personally and professionally is essential to providing exceptional service to our residents. Through career development, recognition and support programs, we are committed to making Atria the workplace of choice for people who demonstrate skill, creativity, work ethic and compassion.

Our commitment to our people is reflected in the recognition we’ve received, including 24 Atria communities earning the 2025 Caring Star Award, based on positive resident and family reviews on Caring.com.

When our team thrives, our residents thrive.

It all comes down to people

While the all-inclusive amenities, chef-prepared meals and daily activities residents enjoy are important, they’re only part of what makes Atria unique. The real difference lies in people like Marcel, whose passion for serving older adults creates vibrant communities where residents feel cared for and appreciated.

It’s the personal touch that sets Atria apart.
