Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff in the Housekeeping Department to ensure they are following proper procedures.
  • Provide a high level of customer service for the residents.
  • Vacuum, dust, and clean all public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture and common areas.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of resident’s apartments and all interior and exterior common areas and amenities.
  • Deep clean apartments as needed.
  • Assist with training and orientation of new housekeeping staff.
  • Prepare cleaning schedules and ensure they are effectively executed.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of cleaning carts, caddies, and small equipment (vacuum).
  • Ensure laundry and linen room are clean and organized.
  • Launder all linen (except Residents’ personal linens) by washing and drying in community laundry facilities.
  • Inspect and evaluate physical condition of community.
  • Submit recommendations to management for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space.
  • Keep an inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Set tables, review daily menu with residents, take meal orders, check food and beverage carts for meal requirements, and serve beverages and meals according to Atria Retirement standards.
  • Bus, clear, and wash tables and chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room.
  • Deliver trays to and pick up from residents’ rooms, when necessary.
  • Work closely as a team with other members of the staff to ensure efficient and safe operation of the dining room and kitchen.
  • Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or changes in health or living status promptly.
  • Stay informed of any changes in routine or resident needs.
  • Attend Pre-Meal stand up held for all dining and kitchen staff.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; or three
    years related experience and one or more years of supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effectively communicate in English with employees and residents.
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as: mangle, iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, etc.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
